Google Play Celebrates It's First Birthday! Free and Discounted Downloads For Everyone!!

Hey Guys,

It has been a whole year since the Google Play Store first got it's new name from Android Market exactly 1 year ago.

Back when it was called the Android Market, it only offered Games and Apps with a not so amazing UI. Google Play now has a great new UI and has allowed us to purchase films, books, music and even devices. It has definitely caught up with Apple's iTunes and will go beyond

To celebrate, Google are offering an assortion of party favors throughout the week, basically more cheap stuff. Unfortunately, unlike in the US, there are only 12 discounts available in the UK, but that may be only for today.

To join the party get most discounted apps, books, films and games Click Here. Or for exclusive free games, Click Here

There is also a celebration video below! (Which was only released one hour ago)

BBC Sports Finally Arrives On Android

Hey Guys,

Over a month after the iOS version, but the BBC's dedicated Sports app has recently made it onto Google Play store. The free mobile app has been designed to work best with screen sizes up to 7-inch tablets, meaning you 10-inch screen owners may not get the best experience.

It'll work with all versions above Android 2.2 (Froyo) onwards. If you're still lagging on Eclair (2.1) then you should've installed a custom ROM about a year ago. Like I did

Like the iOS app before it, the Android app brings sporting news, live scores, commentary and analysis as well as live and on-demand video because seeing sport happen is much more exciting than just reading about it. But reading technology news is super duper fun. Right?

The video and audio features may require you to download the BBC's Media Player app too, depending on your handset.

To get the app. Click Here

There may be a review if I have time. If you want to express your thoughts on the app, please comment below

"Retina" Macbook Air to Come Up Again

Hey Guys,

I've heard Apple is working on a new "MacBook Air" for later this year, according to a new report. That’s not too surprising, but what’s got most people excited is the suggestion that the next stupidly thin laptop from Apple will pack a super sharp "Retina Display." They don't use that phrase too much at all do they?

The Economic Times says Apple is prepping a new MacBook Air for the third quarter of this year (July to September), and it’ll come packing Intel’s speedier Haswell processor, and some new “external features”.
But unfortunately, the report doesn’t specify what exactly those might be.

Apple first introduced the Retina Display on the iPhone 4 back in 2010, but later rolled it out to the iPad and MacBook Pro as well, so Apple’s popular Ultrabook rival would be the next logical step.

Want a Retina MacBook Air? Retina or Super Amoled? Please express your wonderful opinions in the comments section below!

PlayStation 4 Revealed Last Night!!

Hey Guys,

I stayed up to watch the Playstation 2013 meeting last night and live on stage was the revealing of the PlayStation 4!

Here are all the details you need to know.

The Specs

PlayStation still haven't shown us the box itself, but lead system architect Mark Cerny announced on that the PlayStation 4 will pack an eight-core processor with 8GB of memory, the processor uses very similar technology to PC chips, so it’ll make porting high-end Windows games over a doddle. It can pause games and boot straight into them, or switch between them, and download games can be played even while they're still downloading. Unfortunately, the new tech does mean that PS3 discs won’t run on the PS4, but Gaikai CEO Dave Perry hinted that they would run not just on the PS4, but on your phone, all courtesy of the cloud.

The Controller

The leaked images were perfect. The new controller for the PS4, the DualShock 4, packs in a touch pad in the middle, as well as a “Share” button (which lets you easily tag and upload footage from your gameplay, like a console PVR), it also includes the headphone jack.

I don't particually like the positioning of the 2 analogue sticks and the concave layout but I do like the share and touchpad features that come with it.

You’ll also be able to play PS4 games on the PS Vita using Remote Play.

Cloud Features

Sony partnered with the game streaming service Gaikai last year, and now we know what it’s for. Live on stage, Gaikai CEO Dave Perry announced that you’ll be able to log on to the PlayStation Store and instantly play any demo of any game you like, using the power of the cloud. With a tap of the Share button, you can share a live feed of your gameplay, let your friends watch you play, give you tips and even take over your controls for you if you’re stuck on a hard level. You’ll also be able to broadcast your games over the web to anyone – not just your friends – through the Ustream service.

The Games

The PlayStation 4 wouldn’t be much without games, and several have been announced for the system already. Here are some trailers and game titles for you to look forward to.

Sony Xperia Z Rooted Before Release!

Hey Guys,

I know this post is a bit short but I have been low on time and haven't posted for 2 days

Just because a device hasn’t been released, is in limited release, or isn’t in the hand of a developer doesn’t mean that developers cannot root the device. XDA Elite Recognized Developer Chainfire has rooted a pre-release device a few times, such as when he remotely rooted the Samsung Galaxy S III. Today, we are
talking about Chainfire’s CF-Auto-Root in a roundabout way.

XDA Recognized Developer, the legendary DooMLoRD took the Nexus 4 version of CF-Auto-Root, modified it a bit, did a dance to the rooting gods, and crossed his fingers. Using TeamViewer, to remotely attempt rooting, he was successful. Thanks to Chainfire’s app and DooMLoRD’s dancing, the
Sony Xperia Z now has root.

This is amazing stuff, don't you agree? Comment below to leave your opinion.
